Better than the ghost ball! Learn to aim faster with this Pool Aim Training Tool. Clear acrylic lets you see the centerline aim point intersect the object ball. Dual color lines contrast with all ball or cloth colors. Click HERE for instructions.
Three functions:
- Aim point locator. Place against an object ball, point the arrow through the ball at the pocket. Center line is the aim point.
- Cut angle estimator. Rotate to point the arrow at the cue ball, arrow indicates cut angle in degrees. Arrow and ball scale rotate while cylinder remains in place.
- Fractional ball scale. Vertical lines represent one-eighth ball width. Helps you reacquire aim point after aimer is removed. Works for cut angles under 30 degrees (cue stick pointed at object ball) and over 30 degrees (cue stick pointed past object ball).

I bought this to ingrain a 30 degree cut in my brain and help me envision different cuts. First of all, it is accurate. If I line up the GB 2.0 it gives me an accurate spot to aim for. I find that it works well for doing drills. Setup a circle for the cueball and OB, envision the line before using GB 2.0. Setup GB 2.0, confirm the line and make 10 balls. I do have a hard time seeing the red and green cut lines on the plastic. If the lines on the GB 2.0 were neon that may help. Pictures are 3’.
I love taking this device and using it to supplement my laser pointer. I line up the pointer and pocket, place the OB on the line, then align the GBA 2 with the OB-Pocket. I love having the aim dials to help with incremental cut angles. My only improvement would be to make the dial(s) more visible to the eyes. Otherwise a fantastic tool!
The Ghost Aimer 2.0 arrived as described and seen on the video by SSOP. I had to “borrow” a cue and object ball from where I practice since I don’t have a table. The video was clear and concise without a lot of going “off topic” which in general is more confusing. With my husband’s help I quickly was able to understand the difference between where you aim the cue ball and the actual contact point- something I had previously was confused about. Fun tool!
The Ghost Aimer by SSOP is one of the best training tools I’ve added to my instruction, and I’ve seen a real difference in my students because of it.
Aiming is something a lot of players struggle with, not because they lack ability, but because they don’t have a clear visual reference. The Ghost Aimer makes that process simple. It gives players a consistent way to see the correct contact point, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of the shot.
Really helpful when teaching beginners to aim. Even use it myself when working on tough shots.
